Gateway’s primary purpose is education. That’s exactly what makes it a great place to learn.
At Gateway, learning happens in real time, with real patients, as part of a real interprofessional team. Whether you’re a nursing student, a pharmacy learner, a kinesiology student, or training in another health discipline, a placement at Gateway means working as a member of a high-functioning care team.
What makes Gateway different
Most clinical placements pair you with one supervisor in a single discipline. Gateway offers a broader experience: the opportunity to see how different professions approach the same patient, ask questions across disciplines, and build the collaborative skills that primary care requires.
You will be supervised by experienced clinicians and supported throughout your placement. You will not only observe but also contribute as an active member of the care team.

Who can do a placement here
Gateway welcomes learners from nursing, medicine, dietetics, kinesiology and certified exercise physiology, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and social work.
Placements are arranged through your home program.
